What is Science Olympiad?

Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of 23 team events in each division (Division B is middle school; Division C is high school). Each year, a portion of the events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation. Through the Science Olympiad season, students, teachers, parents, principals and business leaders bond together and work toward a shared goal.

THIS TOURNAMENT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE GENEROUS HELP FROM COLLEGE OF DUPAGE

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR VALUABLE PROGRAM!

Day of Tournament

  • Schedule
  • Parking: You are free to park anywhere but check-in and Headquarters are on the East College Road side of the building. If you’re coming in before 8:30am, it’s easiest to come into SRC Door 7 (by cafeteria) where there is a circular drive. If you are arriving after 8:30am, it would be ideal to through the Seaton Computing Center (SCC) at ground level, walk straight until you get to the bottom of the indoor ramp and then the elevator will be immediately to your right. Take it up one floor and this will leave you close to Headquarters & Hospitality in BIC 2523 (to the right when leaving the elevator)
  • You will receive the following handouts (among others) in your event supervisor envelope:
  • Depending on your room location and supplies, it might be beneficial to move your car closer to the location of your event. Otherwise you are welcome to stay parked where you are.
  • Complimentary food will be available at Tournament Headquarters in BIC 2523 where there will also be room to grade.
When your event is complete and grading is done, please come to Score Counseling in BIC 2A07 (near Headquarters) to present all grades/scores with scoring personnel.
  • After Score Counseling, you are welcome to stay for awards to hand out medals (4:00-5:00 PM) or you are welcome to leave.

THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING TO HELP WITH THIS TOURNAMENT! IT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT ALL OF YOUR TIME AND HARD WORK!!!
